About us

We could not just sit and watch.

Saving Atlantis is a nonprofit organization founded in 2021 by Kari Nordmann when she realized that the world was just watching quietly as marine life suffered, and more and more species were rapidly moving towards extinction. The foundation currently consists of three full-time employees.

Why are we doing this?

Our goal is to not only do what we can to save life in the ocean, but also to ensure that the Earth will continue to be a habitable place for our own children. The plastic pollution just might end up killing us all if we don't put a stop to this situration. We can't accept that.

Why does the world need us?

Manufacturers don't want to spend money on finding alternate solutions to using plastic. State leaders are well aware that this issue is largely ignored by most people and that building affordable housing and creating jobs for the short-term is going to give them more brownie points as they strive to keep their positions of power.
